I truly believe that you are meant to enjoy your life in every moment so that you can create your dream life.
For many years, I forgot this. I used to live every day and every moment thinking about things that had happened in the past. I was constantly comparing events that were happening in the moment with what had happened in my past.
If I wasn’t living in the past, then I was hoping and wishing about what might happen in the future. I was always thinking about what would happen, “if only” I could have or do or be something in the future.
I was not living in the NOW. I was not present in every moment.
I remember loving this quote by Joseph Campbell and had it everywhere in my world. I loved the idea of it and thought that I was actively doing all that I could to “follow my bliss”.
Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. ~ Joseph Campbell
I realize now, with the clarity of hindsight, that I was just thinking it was a really good idea.
I wasn’t actually living a blissful life.
I was just thinking it.
There’s a big difference between the two concepts.
I’m sharing this with you so that you can determine if you’re doing the same things that I was.
I’m going to share with you what I do daily to actively change my focus, my thinking and my behaviour so that I am now more present each and every moment.
Here are the steps to actively “seek blissful moments” every single day.
Ground yourself, connect your energy to the centre of the earth
Breathe in deeply.
Be fully present in the moment and focus on one task at a time.
Pay attention to the sights, the sounds, the smells that are all around you.
Be aware of your feelings and emotions.
When you find yourself fully present and aware, you will capture blissful moments.
Take a mental photograph of the blissful moment.
However you do it is perfect.
Capture the sights, the feelings and emotions, the sounds, the tastes and the smells.
Wrap it all up together to create this blissful moment for you to store up and remember.
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” ~ Dr. Seuss
Value every moment you have.
Make it a blissful moment.
Savour your blissful moments and string them together to make a blissful life.
